The charming seaside town is about 3.5 hours south of Bangkok, with a laid-back vibe that makes it a favourite escape for both locals and tourists.
Known for its stunning resorts and lively local markets, this peaceful town also has beautiful mountains and landscapes. Making it perfect for nature lovers looking for a bit of exploration beyond the beaches.
WHY COME TO HUA HIN FOR MUAY THAI?
While smaller and quieter than destinations like Bangkok and Phuket, Hua Hin is a hidden gem for Muay Thai fans.
The town has a growing Muay Thai scene, with excellent gyms that offer more personalised training. There are also plenty of opportunities to test your skills and fight at the local stadiums.
🤩 Read on to see what our top picks for Muay Thai gyms in Hua Hin are
HUA HIN MUAY THAI GYMS
Hua Hin is a great place if you want to escape the busier destinations in Thailand.
Here, you can focus on improving your skills in a more laid-back, intimate setting, often with a stronger connection to trainers and other students.
If you're looking to combine high-quality Muay Thai training with seaside relaxation and scenic outdoor adventures, Hua Hin is the perfect place. Below are our favourite gyms to train at!
SITJAOPHO MUAY THAI GYM
Best for: Intermediate to advanced practitioners and fighters who enjoy a relaxed class structure with a strong emphasis on pad work, technical sparring and clinching.
We were so lucky to have met both Phet Ek (Kru O) on the far-left and Phet Tho (Kru F) on the far-right during our first visit to Sitjaopho Muay Thai Gym in 2023!
Overview
Sitjaopho Muay Thai was established in 2011 by twin brothers Phet-Ek (Kru O) and Phet-Tho (Kru F).
Both with impressive careers in Muay Thai having competed at the highest levels from an early age. They regularly fought in Lumpinee and Rajadamnern stadiums, two of the most prestigious arenas in Thailand.
Sitjaopho Muay Thai Gym first gained international recognition through YouTube, where videos of the brothers' technical Muay Femur style, playful sparring and beautiful pad work attracted Muay Thai enthusiasts from around the world.
What makes Sitjaopho special?
While Kru O now teaches in Sweden, Kru F remains heavily involved in the day-to-day running of the gym
What sets Sitjaopho apart is Kru F's hands-on coaching. Rather than watching from the sidelines, you'll often find him sparring with students, holding pads and sharing technical advice. He's also constantly monitoring the sparring rounds, stepping in when needed to ensure everyone trains safely and learns from each session
Kru F is known for his warm, approachable and lighthearted personality. He makes training sessions enjoyable by balancing serious, technical Muay Thai instruction with humour and a laid-back atmosphere.

One of the things we love most about Sitjaopho is its welcoming community. The gym attracts a diverse mix of students from around the world, creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
During our three years of living and training in Hua Hin, we've met many women and members of the LGBTQ+ community who have shared that they feel safe, comfortable and respected while training here. It's not uncommon to meet students who return year after year, with many describing Sitjaopho as their second home.
Meet Muay Thai fans from all over the world to train, learn and grow together. Build friendships that go beyond the gym
The Training Style
Training at Sitjaopho has a relaxed, self-directed feel. Rather than following a strict class structure, you're encouraged to take initiative and work on the areas you'd like to improve.
Coaches will guide you during pad work, clinch training and the final bag conditioning rounds, but outside of that, you'll have the freedom to shadowbox, spar, clinch or drill with your training partners.
Most students who train here already have a solid foundation in the basics and come to refine their technique through plenty of technical sparring and clinching.
If you're used to highly structured classes with constant instruction, Sitjaopho may feel a little unusual at first. However, many students quickly grow to love the freedom, as it allows them to train at their own pace and focus on the skills they want to develop.
Our Thoughts
If your goal is to improve your Muay Thai technique in a relaxed, friendly environment, Sitjaopho is difficult to beat.
It's the perfect gym for anyone who enjoys technical Muay Thai playful sparring.

What Makes MrKnock Special?
We were incredibly lucky to train with Mr. Knock during a private lesson before the gym officially opened.

🚌 Ready to visit Hua Hin? Let’s help you choose the best way to get here. This article covers something for every budget.
MUAY THAI FIGHT SCENE IN HUA HIN
Hua Hin has a small but active Muay Thai Fight scene, with several local stadiums hosting regular fight nights throughout the week. While it’s not as large or commercialised as Bangkok or Phuket, it offers a way to experience authentic Thai boxing at up close!
Many fighters training at local gyms will have the opportunity to compete at one of the town’s stadiums, making it easy to support teammates or experience a live fight night during your stay. Each stadium offers its own unique vibe. Here are some of them below:
Hua Hin Stadium on Soi 102

This stadium has an open-air setting with a simple yet lively atmosphere. The Muay Thai ring sits under a shelter with seating for spectators. The crowd is usually a mix of both local Thais and foreigners.
With fighters preparing for their fights just steps away and the echo of ‘Owee!’ shouts from the crowd, the energy can be quite exciting.
Antza Stadium

Antza Stadium has a slightly different experience with its indoor layout and more bar-style setting. It tends to attract a larger expat and tourist crowd, with seating arranged around the ring where you can enjoy burgers and drinks while watching the fights.
Chomjan Stadium
Sitjaopho’s Kristen (blue gloves) stepping into the ring against Marie Ruumet (red gloves) at the very first fight night at Chomjan Stadium. Such a thrilling fight!
One of the newer additions to Hua Hin’s fight scene, Chomdan Stadium brings a more modern feel while still maintaining the traditional structure of local fight nights. As the Muay Thai scene in Hua Hin continues to grow, venues like Chomjan provide additional opportunities for local and visiting fighters to compete.
Tickets are typically around ฿1,000 at Hua Hin Stadium (Soi 102) and Antza, and around ฿1,500 at Chomjan. If you’re training at a local gym, you may be able to get a small discount by purchasing tickets through your coach.
Overall, Hua Hin offers a more intimate and relaxed fight scene compared to Thailand’s larger cities. It’s especially memorable if you’ve been training with someone at your gym and then get to watch them step into the ring at a local stadium.
Supporting a friend on fight night adds a personal and rewarding feeling to the experience, and it’s often a highlight of a Muay Thai traincation in Hua Hin.
👕 Now that you know where to watch the action, let's help you get fully equipped to jump into training yourself!
